Part Eight - Advertising Through The Years
We are very fortunate to have hundreds of documents, photographs and catalogues in our archives, dating back to the 1800's. As part of our 150th year anniversary, we are proud to share some of our heritage and share the Morlands journey with you.
This will be our final look back through the archives and in this edition, we take a fun look back at the good (and bad) Morland's artwork. These are taken from the hundreds of old catalogues and advertising we have collected throughout our history. What's your favourite?
Whilst we have been fine tuning the Morlands product range over the last 150 years the advertising has varied quite dramatically, staying true to the current trends and style. As soon as colour was introduced into the catalogues in the mid 19th century and catalogues came to life.
A variety of animals can be found in all of the old Morlands catalogues and advertising. Rabbits, Sheep, Dogs and Cats are a constant reminder of the cosiness and luxury quality of the Morlands products. We love seeing the catalogues have stayed true to the Morlands heritage by depicting the beautiful rolling hills of Glastonbury in various artistic styles.
One thing we have noticed since the very first Morlands catalogues is a great sense of humour. Each catalogue is very personal, speaking of the extended Morlands family and the highs and lows of each season. We sincerely hope that you have enjoyed our look back through Morlands 150 year history. We have thoroughly enjoyed delving into the archives and discovering Morlands rich heritage. Here's to the next 150 years!
